Scones
Soft, basic breakfast or afternoon tea scone, best served with jam and whipped cream.

350 g | all purpose/plain flour |
12 g | baking powder |
1/4 tsp | salt |
85 g | melted butter |
175 ml | warm milk/soy milk |
1 tsp | vanilla extract |
1/2 tbsp | lemon juice |
Method
- Preheat oven to 220c
- Mix flour, salt and baking powder in a bowl
- Add melted butter, mix in with fingers
- Warm the milk, and add to it vanilla extract and lemon juice
- Add liquid to dry mix, and combine with a knife.
- Fold mix 2 -3 times on a floured surface.
- Shape into a cirlce about 3 - 4 cm high
- Cut into 8 wedges with a floured knife
- Add to baking tray
- Cook in oven for 14 minutes
